Hearth Fellowship Superintendent
The Right Rev. Eric Thomas was appointed Superintendent of the Hearth Fellowships Ministry of the Methodist Episcopal Church on July 15, 2023.
Rt. Rev. Thomas resides in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife Alexandra (Sandy) Thomas. They are the proud parents of three adult children and grandparents of four. Rt. Rev. Thomas comes to the Methodist Episcopal Church with over twenty-five years in Christian Ministry, focusing on Church Planting/Home Fellowship Ministry. Rt. Rev. Thomas was ordained in 1997 within the United Christian Ministries International (U.C.M.I.) and into Apostolic succession via the Celtic Anabaptist Communion in 2000. Rt. Rev. Thomas has been blessed to play an instrumental role in the planting and development of Church plant communities in Christ, both house-based and “brick and mortar” communities, in fourteen states across America which collectively would, in 2004, become the Communion of the Ancient Christian Faith (C.A.C.F.) within which he served two terms as Presiding Bishop. Rt. Rev. Thomas served as the Director of an emergency need ministry known as Saint Matthias Mission in Lenoir City Tennessee from 2000-2007. Saint Matthias Mission provided Food, Clothing, and temporary Shelter to those in need due to an unforeseen emergency. During his tenure as Director Saint Matthias Mission Rt. Rev. Thomas was honored to serve and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with an average of over three hundred souls a month. Rt. Rev. Thomas is a U.S. Army Gulf War Combat Veteran, a former (for over fourteen years) Independent Financial Services (Insurance and Investments) business owner, and currently works “a more relaxing job” as a Professional (CDL) Commercial Truck Driver.
